I understand that the mod is going for MP availability as well, does this mean we get to control dino's as well as humans?

Again an idea that's up in the air. As yet, I think we will be waiting to see if the mod is popular and if our coders/animators/modelers are up for it. It will probs be launched in a patch after release.

No. It's a Team based survival mod.

Manio don't jump to conclusions, it looks like we might have a lot of interest in playable dinosaurs... and who says the dinosaurs don't work in teams. I'm quoting you, and you said that raptors should be working in teams... who says the dinosaurs wont be playable as a team?! hunting humans
We cannot tie our selves down with one idea ! think of more than one! or we will loose interest from the watchers.

Hmm. I don't like the idea of people playing as dinosaurs. I have a reason. If we do implement it, it had better be a separate mode and must be considered for later, much later. We only need to focus on our Survival mode for now.
1. You'll always get the players who mess around and don't help the team. Hence why a coded AI Raptor will work together with it's pack. Most players on these survival games like being a Lone Wolf. Totally ruins the concept behind a Velociraptor.

I know much later, and of course it wont be a TDM style raptor vs humans match - its either or raptors or humans, not both... It would be a nice thing to keep interest as well

I've gotten messages on ModDB. People were telling me that they didn't want to play as raptors, they wanted us to be different than Jailbreak. Have our own play style, they liked the thoughts of players vs AI.
Oh well.

Aren't their raptors just like humans?
By that I mean they wield guns and the such.

People don't care about much about what player model they are. It is all about the gameplay. Raptors or not. Playable dinosaurs can add a very nice twist to an otherwise normal FPS mod. You know different dinosaurs with different abilities can add a whole new level of strategy. Much like L4D's versus mode. I only play that game for versus and I rather enjoy playing as the creatures. My player model could be a turnip for all I care as long as it makes the gameplay more interesting and fun. People don't know what they want anyway.

Maybe a class system could be implemented and you could go in and add playable dinosaurs at another time. I'd like to see playable dinosaurs, but perhaps at a later time.

The Versus system from Left 4 Dead would probably be the best approach in terms of playable dino's while still having the ability to have AI dino's. This would give you the best of both worlds and keep watchers that want playable dino's and watchers that don't.
It keeps that sense of playability balanced enough that the player base can choose what gametype they want to play. Survival gametype as a base and perhaps a "Hunted/Versus" gametype further down the line.

Playable dinosaurs is something we have kept in mind for a possible 'expansion'. Draco's implementation would be a good for gameplay. However before delving too deeply into possible future features we are focusing on the task at hand.
