Hi,
First off I would like to mention I saw the thread that first had the idea of this mod and posted in it mentioning Dino Instinct. It's nice to see it progressing.
I am a mapper, can do my own environment textures, and I can custom make particle effects.
I have been a mapper for around two years. I have mostly done tf2 arena style maps focusing more on gameplay then on aesthetics. I have wanted to get some mod work done and I have waited until I found one that described something I wanted to play. I love dinosaurs so here I am. I didn't expect actually experienced people to sign up with this mod or I would have awhile ago. That waterbottle and radio render are really off putting.
With all that said if you guys do want some mapping help I want something from you first. Higher quality standards before posting on moddb. Don't post silly sprays or half completed maps. The trees in the maps shown already look atrocious. They are from an old CS:S map. They didn't look good then, they don't look good now. I hope you aren't using anything else from that map. Work on some of your own custom assets. At least some new detail sprites.
On your newest news post you asked what we wanted to see in this mod. Playable dinosaurs. I don't care about AI, actually I hate AI in Source mods. Usually they aren't done well or ripped from an AI Valve did HL2.

Hey cheesemoo,
Firstly, Your concerns over quality and posted images on moddb are shared and being dealt with.
Have you got any images of maps you have worked on? For now I'll take you on blind trust. Your want for high quality is a likeable trait.

The map pictures are old stuff I found on my photobucket account. The reason I want to get some work done on this is, because I want to get some good stuff in my portfolio. I have done a lot of mapping for my clan in the past. We would prototype a lot of game ideas so many of my maps are just in /dev textures. I want to move away from that and do more. I can do the work. Excuse the texture misalignment Example of lighting Example of custom textures I would like to say I have been messing around with modeling for the first time recently and here is what resulted. Nothing too great, but a start none the less. (All the rendering options make my head hurt) At one point I may be able to help with the game programming. I have been teaching myself C++ and only have been making console programs. Things have slowed on that front due to me looking into modeling and concentrating on mapping. I hope all this shows you I am not a one trick horse. I don't just map. I have worked with the Source Engine in one way or another for awhile now. I know my way around Photoshop. Here is a from stratch signature I put in my clan tf2 maps.

Can you show some work of displacements and so on? The TF2 one is kinda blocky. And not in TF2 please

It does look good, it's not terrabad. And I doubt this forum was designed to bitch about peoples work.

"Haha, really Vimelin? From what I have seen you can't say anything about anything being blocky." Cheesemoo0, not a nice comment nor attitude. I agree with Potteh, the work is not terrible, but the fact is it is very simple geometry.

Not to sound like a dick, hopefully I don't. As you've posted you're going to try to get some screenshots of mapping in EP2 which I like, as we are not using TF2.
Also, this isn't meant for arguing as you've read and apologized for above, which I like in people. I like Vimelin's work, and I also like yours from what you've shown. Hopefully no more arguing or fighting surfaces.
Either way, it's good to have you aboard.

Huzzah here we go. I made this before realizing there are particle effects for a very pretty waterfall and splashes! I felt so dumb after making my own and getting a scrolling water. Here is it is minus my particle effect, because I deleted it. I think the color correction in-game is a bit much. Again these are all older maps I am finding screenshots in my folders.
